Please tell us a little about yourself:
When I was younger, my dad introduced me to cupping, and that’s when I fell in love with coffee. Since then, I have been responsible for cupping all of Abu Coffee’s lots and developing their flavor profiles, as part of the quality control process.
My first competition was AeroPress, where I won the Panama National Championship in 2023 and represented my country at the World AeroPress Championship in Australia. I competed again in 2024, and in 2025 I participated for the first time in the Panama National Brewers Cup.
What motivates me to keep competing is my curiosity and my desire to understand coffee more deeply. Through the preparation process, I am constantly learning — not only about coffee, but also about myself.
What are you excited to do while you visit Brussels?
I’m really excited to explore the city, visit the Grand Place, and enjoy lots of Belgian chocolate and waffles.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I will begin university this year, majoring in chemical engineering, driven by my passion for chemistry, physics, math, and, of course, coffee.
I love playing soccer and have been doing so for over ten years. I also practiced taekwondo for many years and earned my black belt.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize, or who helped you to prepare for the WCC?
I would like to thank my mom and dad for being my constant support system and my team throughout every competition. They have been there in every stage of the process, always encouraging me, pushing me forward, and believing in me.
I am also deeply grateful to my mentors, Kemal Risyad, Frederick Bejo, and Devin Loong, for their guidance and support in my journey.
